The signs I stopped explaining away
I used to assume confusion meant I needed more information. Sometimes it just meant the situation was confusing.
There are completely normal reasons for dating to feel uncertain at the beginning. Two people are still learning each other, schedules are imperfect, and nobody knows exactly what the other person is thinking yet.
But I started noticing the difference between early uncertainty and a pattern. If plans stay vague every time, communication disappears whenever it becomes inconvenient, or I’m constantly trying to interpret what someone meant, I don’t automatically call that chemistry anymore.
The biggest shift was realising I don’t need a dramatic reason to step away. Something can simply feel too inconsistent for me.
I still give people room to be human. I just don’t give mixed signals unlimited time to become clear.
